HHMAX-ENERGY Signs Major Project Agreement for Fusion Science and Innovation City in Tianfu New Area, Sichuan
On April 29, the 2026 Fusion Science and Innovation City Industrial Ecosystem Exchange Event, themed "Integrating Industrial Innovation Ecosystem to Drive the Future of Fusion Energy," was held at the Tianfu International Conference Center. During the event, HHMAX-ENERGY, along with five other enterprises, participated in the signing ceremony for major projects of the Fusion Science and Innovation City, signing investment service agreements with the Administrative Committee of Sichuan Tianfu New Area. This government-enterprise partnership marks a new phase in advancing the fusion energy industry from technological breakthroughs to industrial implementation.

The event was co-hosted by the Administrative Committee of Sichuan Tianfu New Area, the Office of the Municipal Committee for Civil-Military Integration Development of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, and the Southwestern Institute of Physics. More than 200 participants from provincial and municipal departments, leading national enterprises, top research institutes and universities, renowned financial institutions, and authoritative media attended. HHMAX-ENERGY, as the only private enterprise engaged in the R&D of controlled nuclear fusion core systems in Southwest China, was invited to participate.

During the major project signing ceremony of the Fusion Science and Innovation City, Xiang Jiang, Chairman of HHMAX-ENERGY, signed an agreement on behalf of the company with the Administrative Committee of Sichuan Tianfu New Area for the Fusion Technology R&D Base Project. The Fusion Science and Innovation City is the world's first innovation city recognized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with fusion energy as its leading industry. It has established a "1+3" industrial innovation system, housing national and provincial major projects such as the Nuclear Fusion Technology R&D Base, the Electromagnetically Driven Fusion Large Scientific Device, and the Quasi-Axisymmetric Stellarator. The city focuses on key fusion technology R&D, industrial cluster cultivation, and the transformation and implementation of achievements. As the first domestic commercial company specializing in linear Field-Reversed Configuration (FRC) controlled nuclear fusion, HHMAX-ENERGY has accumulated extensive scientific research and practical experience in FRC technology development and device engineering. The deepened cooperation following the signing will further enrich the industrial ecosystem of the Fusion Science and Innovation City and jointly promote the local application of fusion technology in Sichuan.

During the event, Tao Kai, Deputy General Manager of HHMAX-ENERGY, delivered a roadshow presentation, sharing industry trends, domestic commercial fusion progress, the company's technological roadmap, core team, development plans, and mid-term commercial application scenarios. After the meeting, he gave an exclusive interview to the media, stating: "We chose to sign with Tianfu New Area because of the industrial agglomeration advantages and high-ground status of the Fusion Science and Innovation City in the nuclear fusion field. In the future, we will rely on the ecosystem of the Science and Innovation City to accelerate our technological engineering and industrialization process."
In the project exhibition area, the company also showcased its first-generation fusion device, HHMAX-901, through device models, audio-visual materials, etc., drawing significant attention. The R&D team engaged in in-depth exchanges with attendees and received unanimous praise for the company's development prospects.
This signing marks HHMAX-ENERGY's deep integration into the future development of the Fusion Science and Innovation City, aligning its FRC fusion technology R&D and engineering efforts with the city's vision. Together, they aim to build a global hub for fusion energy innovation and an industrial highland, providing solid support for China to secure strategic commanding heights in fusion energy and drive the transformation and upgrading of its energy structure.
