Company News | Ministry of Ecology and Environment Surveys HHMAX-ENERGY, Seeks Input on Fusion Device Management Standards
On October 13, Wang Gang, Director of the Comprehensive Division of the Radiation Source Safety Supervision Department at the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, led a delegation to visit HHMAX ENERGY (Chengdu) Technology Co., Ltd for research. The delegation solicited the company's feedback on the recently released “National Ecological and Environmental Standard: Technical Guidelines for Environmental Impact Assessment of Magnetic Confinement Fusion Devices (Draft for Comment).”
Leaders from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment Conduct On-Site Inspection of the HHMAX-ENERGY Device
Wang Gang and his delegation first visited the company's facility R&D base to gain firsthand knowledge of the construction progress and experimental activities related to the HHMAX-ENERGY Linear Field Reverse Configuration (FRC) Controlled Nuclear Fusion Device. The facility formally passed the Ministry of Ecology and Environment's classification application in April this year and is currently proceeding with the radiation safety license certification process in an orderly manner.
Roundtable Discussion
During the subsequent discussion session, representatives from HHMAX-ENERGY presented reports on the company's development and facility R&D plans. They also offered recommendations on the “National Ecological and Environmental Standard: Technical Guidelines for Environmental Impact Assessment of Magnetic Confinement Fusion Devices (Draft for Comment)” from the perspectives of both corporate and industry development. HHMAX-ENERGY proposed revisions across multiple dimensions including classification, environmental factors, and environmental protection engineering. They recommended adding terms and definitions for evaluation factors covered by the guidelines, such as “magnetic induction intensity, electric field strength, radiation exposure dose, and effluent.”
Wang Gang highly commended HHMAX-ENERGY's development and device R&D progress. He responded to each of the company's feedback points and stated that the Ministry of Ecology and Environment will earnestly consider corporate feedback to further refine relevant standards and policies. This commitment aims to effectively safeguard industry development and accelerate the practical application of nuclear fusion in China.
